We offer two different types of Advanced Open Water Diver programs. Our spring program consists of an orientation and lecture session being held during the colder months with the dives being done when the weather warms up. This program allows you to think diving and further your diving education when the water is chilly and dive during the summer. It also allows those of you wanting to go on to Rescue Diver to take part in the spring Rescue Diver program. The second program is the summer program. This consists of the lecture session being done during a week night in the summer and the dives being done that weekend. By the end of either program you choose, you will have completed a total of five dives with an Instructor, giving you more confidence, skills and knowledge to take your diving to the next level. You will complete five dives during one weekend. Two of those dives will be a Deep dive and an Underwater Navigation dive. We begin our Advanced courses with a short orientation. During the orientation, you and your classmates get to choose three other specialty dives. This is followed by a few hours of lecture where you will learn in detail about the dives you have chosen. The dives could include Night diving, Search & Recovery diving, Multilevel diving, Peak Performance Buoyancy diving, and much more.

What You Learn…

The knowledge and skills you will learn during this course will depend on the dives you choose to partake in. The most commons areas learned are:

  • How to better use your dive computer, eRDP (electronic dive planner), and or RDP (dive tables)
  • Much more depending on what other dive you pick

What You Need…

You will use the basic scuba diving equipment and some scuba accessories such as a dive slate and an underwater compass. If you are planning on doing a Night dive during your class, you will need to either purchase or rent (for an additional fee) an underwater dive light and a back-up light. If you choose on Multi-level diving, you may need to purchase an electronic dive planner or a dive computer. Dive computers can also be rented for an additional fee.
