Gilboa Quarry

My favorite dive location is Gilboa Rock Quarry located in Ottawa Ohio. For the past few years, I’ve focusing my diving on helping instructors, teaching Scuba Refresher Courses and the Discover Scuba program. I do look forward to expanding my Diving destinations now that my Son’s Open Water Certified.

Gilboa is a 14 acre Rock Quarry that has many attractions underwater for us scuba divers as well as a Rock Climbing Tower and a Zip Line. One of my favorite attractions is the Grumman Airplane. I like to practice my buoyancy scuttling under the airplane wings and not stir up any silt. Access to the quarry is easy with stairs leading down to multiple platforms. Water entry is also easy with two separate sets of stairs per platform that take you directly into the water or there’s an area between the stairs where you can enter by giant stride or back roll. Gilboa has a lot to offer for us Scuba divers.
